Our base is in Italy,on the island of ALICUDI, one of the 7 Aeolian Islands off the coast of Sicily.

Alicudi is the wildest and most remote of the "7sisters". There is no traffic, only donkey paths with lots of stairs and as they say:" either you walk up or down". Open vastness, deep silence and breathtaking beauty are its main features.

 ACCOMMODATION options on the island include one hotel and many airbnbs. For MEALS there are 2 restaurants and you can also eat dinner at some of the local houses, where islanders will cook for you. Basic groceries can be bought in two tiny "botteghe" down at the port.

There is a post office (opened only some days), no ATM and no bank.

You can GET TO ALICUDI by ferry or ship, leaving fom Milazzo, Palermo (only during summer) or Naples. Once you ARRIVE ON THE ISLAND, all the luaggage and heavy goods will be loaded on a donkey and taken to your accommodation, unless you carry them up yourself. There are some walking trails on Alicudi, you can book boat tours and spend time at the beach. All together the island is a very calm, slow-paced and archaic place, ideal for unwinding and just being.
